About me…

I’m Sam Richards (or Richarts), and I’m a 26 year old illustrator from South East London.

I work primarily across editorial, branding and children’s books, but any opportunity to tackle a new project is one I’m keen to take on.

My work is playful, focusing on clean line work and fun palettes. I find that my interests often creep into my work, with sports and music being prominent throughout my portfolio. Having ADHD has always pulled me towards needing to think outside of the box, I scratch this itch by using forced perspective with a lot of characters - bringing in new levels of energy to my work.

I graduated from Coventry University with a BA in illustration and animation, before completing my Masters degree, also in illustration, where I went to Ravensbourne University.
